Dr Mia Jing Gao MBBS MA (Cantab) MRCP is a highly skilled Consultant Dermatologist based in London. She works at the Royal Free Hospital, where she leads the Skin Cancer service, and also sees patients privately. Patients value her warm, calm manner and clear, honest advice.

Mia grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. She studied medicine at the University of Cambridge, gaining a Master’s in Physiology and Development, then completed her clinical training at UCL with distinction and multiple prizes. She was ranked second nationally for entry into dermatology training, which she completed at leading London teaching hospitals.

She treats a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions in adults and childnre. Her specialist interests include early detection of skin cancer, skin surgery, acne, hair loss, rosacea, inflammatory rashes and pigmentation concerns.

An experienced dermatological surgeon, Mia has a precise and gentle approach. She regularly performs biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy and removal of benign lesions such as cysts, warts, moles and skin tags.

Outside of work, Mia is a mum to a young son. She understands the pressures of busy family and work life and is committed to making treatment plans that are realistic, personalised and help her patients feel confident in their skin.
